MATHILDE GREMAUD, WINS GOLD IN WOMEN’S FREESKI SLOPESTYLE contest AS EILEEN GU CLAIMS SILVER in WINTER OLYMPICS 2022.
After a score of 86.56, Mathilde Gremaud claimed gold in the women’s Freeski slopestyle at Beijing winter Olympics 2022 saw her beat Eileen Gu by just 0.33 points. Gu has known as the Big air champion; claims; her second medal of the Games, while Kelly Sildaru of Estonia claimed the bronze. Kirsty Muir, with GB teammate Katie Summerhayes ninth, finished eighth.
Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland won the Freeski slopestyle contest of women at the Winter Olympics as Eileen Gu claims silver to her big air gold.
At Pyeongchang 2018, Gremaud claimed silver in the slopestyle but went one better in Beijing as a score of 86.56 was enough to beat Gu, who is just 18 years old now by just 0.33 points.
In 12th, it was a remarkable victory given Gremaud had only qualified, with only the top 12 making the final, after winning bronze in the big air, while it was the second medal of Swiss of the Games.
Kelly Sildaru of Estonia finished third and won the bronze medal, ahead of teammate Katie Summerhayes, while Kirsty Muir of Great Britain finished eighth, is on the ninth.
In reverse order based, the finalists went out on their qualifying scores, meaning Summerhayes was third to go down; Briton knew she had a chance to set the early benchmark and with just the best score counting, given Gremaud and Olivia Asselin stumbled early doors.
